Obviously this is a composite. I started this project in 2021 when this gorgeous Bernese Mountain Dog came to live with us. In the beginning I took a new photo once a month but after she turned one I started taking new photos every 6 months. (The project is still on-going but now there are way too many photos as the image ratio has gotten to something like 10:2 already and it doesn't look as good anymore - hence the version which won me the 4th place in "Domesticated Animals" -category of Finnish Photo Awards 2022).

In this photo you can see her grow from an 8-week-old puppy to a 1-year-old "adult". So these photos were taken every two months.

As you probably already noticed the biggest challenge here was to have the same posture, angle and light. Even though the focal length, settings, lighting etc. were always identical you can still see different exposures (especially) on the cheeks. It was pretty darn difficult to get the dog to sit in front of the stripbox in the exact same spot/angle. I don't have a proper studio at home so the all shots were taken in our living room so it wasn't the ideal location either.

Gear used: Olympus E-M5III + M.Zuiko 12-100mm f/4 PRO IS. Lit by one Godox AD200 with a stripbox in front of it and the background is black thanks to a collapsible (b&w) backdrop.

Naturally we do have this printed on our wall. Why wouldn't we? :)
