On the night of August 13, 2026, a devastating wildfire erupted near Lokva Rogoznica, just east of Omiš, Croatia. Fueled by powerful winds, the flames spread rapidly through the hills and toward inhabited areas, forcing more than a thousand people to evacuate.
Amid the chaos of the burning landscape, the flames appeared to form the unmistakable silhouette of a monstrous face - like a hellhound emerging from the fire.
The image was photographed during the wildfire that night. The creature itself is, of course, only an illusion created by the flames and smoke - but in that moment, the fire seemed to take on a life of its own.
The Hellhound is a visual interpretation of one of the most terrifying nights Omiš experienced that summer.
