Fujifilm Announces Three New GF Series Medium Format Lenses

Alongside the new GFX100 II medium format mirrorless camera, Fujifilm has announced three new GF lenses. 

GF 55mm f/1.7 R WR Lens

The GF 55mm f/1.7 R WR offers a wide aperture in tandem with a 44mm equivalent focal length making it a great option for applications like portraiture and street photography. Its features include: 

  • 14 lens elements in 10 groups
  • Aspherical and extra-low dispersion (ED) elements for improved image quality
  • 11 diaphragm blades for smoother bokeh
  • Advanced lens blade design for control of chromatic and spherical aberrations
  • Direct current (DC) motor and GMR sensor for fast and quiet autofocus
  • Weather-resistant design
  • Weight: 1.72 lbs (780 g)
  • Length: 3.9 inches (99.3 mm)

Expect the GF 55mm f/1.7 R WR to be available early this fall for $2,299.95.

GF 30mm f/5.6 T/S and GF 110mm f/5.6 T/S Macro Lenses

Offering capabilities sure to be appreciated by architecture, landscape, product, and macro photographers, the GF 30mm f/5.6 T/S and GF 110mm f/5.6 T/S Macro lenses bring a lot more capabilities to the GF lineup. 

GF 30mm f/5.6 T/S

  • 16 lens elements in 11 groups
  • Three aspherical elements, two extra-low dispersion (ED) elements and one Super ED element
  • Suppressed spherical aberrations, comatic aberrations and field curvature
  • Nano GI coating technology controls refractive index for reduced ghosting and fewer flares
  • Tilting of ±8.5° and shifting of up to ±15mm
  • Rotation adjustments within ±90°

GF 110mm f/5.6 T/S Macro

The GF 110mm f/5.6 T/S Macro takes the versatility of a tilt-shift lens and adds macro capabilities. Its features include:

  • Maximum magnification factor of 0.5x
  • Designed to optimally suppress various types of aberrations, including distortion and lateral chromatic aberration

  • 11 lens elements in 9 groups

  • One aspherical element and two ED elements for reduced aberrations and field vurvature

  • Tilting up to ±10° and shifting up to ±15mm

  • Rotation adjustments within ±90°

  • Built-in sensor that measures changes, in degrees, to shift or rotation, which are recorded in metadata and viewable in real-time
