Canon just released a firmware update for the Canon 1D-X, offering autofocus point illumination in red and a single, center cross-type AF point available at f/8. You can upgrade now, here.

Waiting for 5D3 upgrade, shouldn't be long :)
Still wondering if the AF at f/8 will be added onto the 5D3 or not... I have no doubt the AF point illumination will be, but the AF at f/8 might be a tricky one (cf. http://www.canonrumors.com/2012/10/thoughts-on-the-new-eos-1d-x-firmware...), otherwise I'm sure Canon would have released a new firmware for the 5D3 at the same time :/
