Being that these kittens are American's own breed, the "American Shorthair" it was only appropriate to create a setting showing the US and the breed. Photographing kittens is very challenging because their attention span is about 1 minute and also they don't respond to sound like dogs do so they have to be baited with teasers, but, being this young their vision is not fully developed so they can't see very far so you have to be fairly close and also not make sudden movements because they will miss it. Props were large wooden letters glued to the table to prevent tipping. The flag was a scarf. The image is a superimposed creation using six kittens. Each kitten was placed individually and photographed on every letter to get the best look. In the end all the images where stacked together to get the finished photo. Equipment used was a Canon 5D Mark III with a Canon 50mm f/1.2. Exposure was f9, 1/160th, ISO 100, two Phottix Indra500 set at 1/4 power with 30" soft-box.
Well done!
