Barbara MacFerrin's picture

Portrait Alex

This is an image taken at my 1:1 July workshop. The hair and styling all happens organically. My hair and makeup artist did this hair style and I thought to add the little wooden balls.

My work is inspired by Renaissance old master paintings so often my lighting and editing style will reflect that look.

Nikon D750, 50mm, f5.6, 1/200, ISO100. Two lights: one 60" octa camera left, and 7' diffused umbrella behind camera for fill. Edited in RAW, Ps and textures added in post. Dress purchased from Trish Scully.

Wonderful shot Barbara! Would you give me links to read about this editing and touch-up process method free of pay? As for the time being I have no possibilities to pay money for tutorials.

Thank you! At the moment I only have a few tips on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/c/BarbaraMacFerrinPhotography

Barbara this is inspiring work: I just love everything : the lighting, hair style, the post production, the pose and color : the contrast of the background and the red hair is right on. A pleasure to the eyes. I want to make color portraits like you when I grow up. Can you share with me a color and touch up tutorial that can help me make better color portraits?
