I took the original (1st photo) of this photo with no intention of editing it this way, but my Disney brain got the better of me and I went for a fairy tale edit. The first (2nd photo) more of warm edit for something like Cinderella, and the second (3rd photo) more for something like Snow White, colder. I personally am in love with the second edit, but I am alway open for thought.
I agree, I think the 2nd edit looks best. It feels a lot happier then the 3rd.
You've done a good job for my tastes, Chloe, in bringing out the potential of the original file. Your editing has really evolved! It really is fundamental to digital photography for me, whatever the purists say who insist images should need minimal editing. It often takes me hours to get even reasonable-looking RAW files to really sing. And many RAW files look frankly awful.
Inspired move to rotate it - obvious in hindsight, but I wonder if I'd have thought of it in your place. I agree with you both that the second image is the best - it's quite beautiful, one of your best for me.The flower is like some beautiful performer on some perfect set. A must-add to your portfolio.
I suspect our Dear Leader Ruth will approve; one of her strengths is images in a similar style..
The Snow White is a bit chilling and offputting - but that doesn't make it a worse image, although I'd be less likely to want it on my wall for that reason.
You certainly bring feeling into your images, something a lot of geeky people on FS are not so good at! Keep it up. Always interested in your latest!
Thank you Chris!!
