This is my first experiment with black and white ICM. It was a handheld exposure of 1/10 s, at 70 mm. My favorite part of it is the different shades of gray shown in each layer. The abstraction was accomplished by doing a wavelike modification to a horizontal pan.
Does anyone have thoughts on a black and white ICM image?
I remember expressing my opinion about black and white ICM so forgive me for not repeating here lol. I have to admit I think I'm conditioned to color ICM because of the painterly and at times impressionist quality. That being said, this one has its appeal.
I was hoping you'd comment on this one again. I can't blame you for the opinion, it is one I share for the most part as well. I don't know if you saw any of them, but I've been releasing a few color ICMs as well that you might be interested in. Thank you for commenting, and I'm glad this one has some measure of appeal.
You're welcome! No, I haven't on a whole lot but I'll give your color ones a look see.
I think there is a place for B&W ICM but perhaps color is better suited in general.
I have a couple of examples where I feel B&W works better for me, I’ll try to post for comparison.
Update 8/9
Attached are two ICM images where I feel B&W creates an atmosphere better fitting to the image.
I definitely agree.
