Deep Sea Jellies

I made jellyfish! At least - these remind me of them.

I'm back to the studio (aka the kitchen counter) for some ink work and have made a tweak in my process that is allowing me to take dark photos. And, we all know that I am a sucker for 'dark'!

I recently posted three on my profile and this is a slightly different take than those.

Feedback always welcome!

Wow. A lot to learn here. Selective glow, dodge-burn, the balanced (un)sharpening. amazing...
Leaving the grains looks to be your deliberate choice.

Always love the ink work and with the black background, stunning contrast.

My only thing with this image, and this is of course personal tastes, I'd like to see the softness of those.. what to call them... feather soft extensions of ink patterns... up closer almost filling the screen. Those I feel are the star of the show. Punch in deep and show us those wonderful feathery goodness in a close-up abstract. :)

Feathery goodness! I love that! I'll play around with a few of these and see what i can come up with. Thanks Joe!

What a striking image Ruth - this would look great hung on a wall.

Great work!

Agree with Alan, I think this is wall worthy--love the new technique!

Austin, Texas Blue Hour

Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.

Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!

Two from Tenerife

My two favourite images from my recent night time adventure in Tenerife. Foregrounds and skies were shot separately and blended in PS.

Any interest in this group?

Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
