This is the same fence that was in my previous post. There was a master horizontal shot showing the entire fence from across the street. That became the back layer. I used it to manually align the other vertical layers shot from about 4-5 feet away from the curb. The result is that the fence looks sorta normal and the foreground and background get weird.
The question I've been thinking about is, "How do I order the layers?" Here they go from side to side. Would it work better going from the center to either side? So far the answer is either "It depends." or "I dunno."
Luckily, Harry is always ready for another go.
Interesting idea, Andrew. I can't think of how to layer as well. It does have that abstract block art feel to it. Wonder what others think?
Great creativity Andrew, I can see this technique being used across a variety of subjects.
As for layering I can’t imagine there’s a preferred order in doing so. What you have achieved looks great to me, at the end of the day the correct order is what suits your own artistic taste.
One caveat to consider- I have found that when applying multiple layers for the same opacity the effect diminishes the further you go down in the stack.
Just something to play about with.
Great worh!
