Andrew Williams's picture

New and Revisited

I'm still messing around with multiple images, although I'm starting to get the feeling that the technique is overpowering the content. The first three images are from my usual perambulations (I did go to college!) with Harry (who did not.) They illustrate two of my common themes: the trivialization of patriotic imagery and clouds. The last two are variants of the same image set shot almost five years ago at the Flight 95 Memorial site in southwest Pennsylvania. That's the visitor center on the right edge of the first. If you embiggen them you will see windmills on the horizon.

Wow Andrew! While I was away, you certainly expanded your work in to some amazing things! The last two images in particular are quite interesting and impressive. The last image is (for me) the most successful. I love them! Can't wait to see more of this!!

I think it is easy to get wrapped up with developing techniques and it's good that you are aware of this. At the end of the day the basic rules of photography (light, composition) remain key.

Your latest iterations remind me of Pep Ventosa's 'Reconstructed Works' , which is quite a compliment.

I think I'd prefer these without the red lines, though I can see that working in some instances.

Keep on developing your technique, it's great to see your growth.

I checked out Alan's link to Pep Ventosa's reconstructed works.Your technique, Andrew, definitely reminds me of his. I like #3 the most. The lines in #4 adds an interesting mix on what would normally be a straight landscape photo. Hope you are well, Andrew!

The first to me, is by far the best. Again though, I'd really like to see them without the red lines. They're too much out of place... I know....
