Bromo Seltzer Tower Baltimore Starry Night

Typically I don't like milkway photos for architecture. And although this would never happen in Baltimore, I thought it really looked unique. Yes this is a luminar 4 sky, but with much downtime right now, playing around with some creative work. Any thoughts? Also uploaded is the true version.

Even though things look "cool" it's a very thin path to walk on to not become cheesy. And you mentioned it yourself already, it would never happen. So if you want to be taken as a pro / commercial photographer that is a no-go. If it's for your own fun: maybe.
Still I do sky replacements all the time, but then with skies that could be physically possible in that region. And a milky way over a city is totally not possible. So for your own sake of not getting the stamp of an Instagram amateur, I would really go with the original version.
Sorry if that came out pretty straight forward and maybe not in the kindest way. I didn't mean to offend you, if I did.
(I just can't stand Milky Ways over cities - it is so much effort to capture them properly so it shouldn't be used that way, making all the star photographers look ridiculous)

No not at all I totally understand. This wouldn’t be making my portfolio that’s for sure haha. Just having a little fun during the downtime and posting in a creative community environment. Appreciate the feedback though

I'm with Matthias. If this is an exercise in implementing a different sky, OK, but keep it to yourself. If you're going to promote or sell, or even enter the work into a contest, it had better be 100% credible. A couple of years ago I saw 3-4 real estate shots of a property, all from different angles, yet all of the shots had the exact same sky floated into them. Credibility went out the window right there. Just sayin'.

Yep Willy totally get it, that happens a lot in real estate shots from what I see. Yea this was just a fun thing the main shot was the normal sky, just was throwing the other one in here because it looked cool with the tower. Thanks guys

As usual there is good feedback here. However there may be a different way to look at it.

I don't believe the problem is with the photograph. (I actually don't mind it.) You shared the photo in an architectural forum and called it an architectural photo so it bumps up against some unspoken "rules." If you exaggerated the effect, darkened the image and called it Fantasy, then placed it in the Compositing Group, you probably would have a completely different reaction.

All of us use image manipulation and sometimes a sky replacement in our architectural images but we present them as a version of "reality." I think this just bent reality too far.

It's great that we all have extra time to experiment with these projects and then even more time to sit around and pontificate about our reactions. :)

I am a little unsure what your asking sorry could you rephrase
