The ant that wasn't

I thought something seemed a bit off with this ant I saw pacing around on a leaf. When I got a closer look it wasn't an ant at all, but an ant mimic fly. It was funny watching it crawl around waving it's front legs sweeping them around like they were antenna. I could almost hear it saying Don't mess with me I'm an ant with big strong mandibles, venom, and a bunch of buddies behind me.

Any CC is always welcome.

Edit I added a second version of the closeup with a less post processing.

Really digging that macro shot of him, fantastic.

Great shot and I love what you said.

Fascinating shots! I don't know, what it is, but the fly on the second picture seems somehow artificial to me (like it's rendered in a computer or something). How did you process this picture?

Thanks for the input. It's a fairly heavy crop and was underexposed. In hind site I should have dialed in some flash compensation. I probably just got a bit heavy handed bringing up the exposure, sharpening and reducing noise. I'll go back and dial it back a bit and see if that helps.
