Does any body know?

I'm in the process of wanting to add a before and after, but I have one thing bugging me on the final image. During the final stages of post processing, I have started to see RGB type rings form in the image. A bit like you might see with compressed images. I'm wondering if it's something to do with colour profile?

Thanks guys,

Edit: Re-edited in 16bit

The RGB rings you are referring to are called banding, banding is very common when working with shots that have gradients or vignette. there are several methods to get rid of banding , but the easiest way is to do your editing in 16 or 32 bit mode and you will usually prevent banding. Only drawback is you will require alot of CPU power when working with higher bit rates.

Ah, thank you so much!! I have quite a lot of CPU power, i7 etc...or do you mean 'A LOT'. I load images into Camera Raw, using 8bit prophoto colour profile. I had suspected it was '8bit' at fault, but when switching colour profiles it made no difference. Does this mean I would need to start the post edit process again? Thanks again for your help, I'm so glad you had the answer :)

You need to start your edit process in 16 bit

Thank you
