Athens photos
A few shots from the winter of 2025. The last one was inside of the Acropolis Museum. (Unfortunately, I could get everyone to walk exactly where I wanted them to. hahaha)

Focus Stacking ~ New to Me
I am interested in learning Macro/Closeup photography and understanding that Focus Bracketing is a good part of the process, I thought I would give focus stacking a try.
Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5. NOTE: With this lens the minimum focusing distance is 18" at which point you have 1/4" depth of field.
Austin, Texas Blue Hour
Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.
Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!

For some reason, the before picture was uploaded sideways, and I can´t seem to find a way to straighten it.
It's in your camera settings. But you can always rotate it even in Windows/iOS.
One thing i will say is personally i feel the top of the head being out of frame bothers me a bit. The image looks generally fine i just feel too close for no real benefit/reason. personal opinion.
1st one looks a bit like a snapshot, because you can see its been taken from above the model, like most people take their cell phone pics. Lack of clarity and contrast also look like cell phone photo. Now said that ... photo on its own look ok. It could be better with practice.
Processing underneath it just doesnt work for me. Makes this obviously young girl into far older looking. Also there is overpowering yellow cast on entire image.
The expression and composition is good, but unfortunately, the image itself is flat. Try playing around with the available light a little more strategically would be my comment.
Not a fan of elevated shooting angles unless there is a specific reason to do so. On my end, color seems a bit all over the map, although there is only two examples here. And lastly, the eyes.. I need very sharp eyes in order for an image to get a pick for post work. These two examples are lacking that crispy feel and are a bit flat. Model was good, lighting was good and the 2nd catch light was in the ball park. And the threshold for chopping a head was (in this case) breached due to your shooting angle. And if shot straight on, you were just on the edge of too much.
