Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5. NOTE: With this lens the minimum focusing distance is 18" at which point you have 1/4" depth of field.
Any interest in this group?
Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
Vintage Lenses
I thought I would try out my 50 year old lenses: Canon FD 50mm f/1.5 SSC and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 on my Canon R5 with the use of the appropriate adapter.

I think the skin is a bit too smooth, bat in general a solid headshot!!
I really like it. However, and having read Peter's comment, I clicked on it to see the skin texture, hopefully. I could not see how, otherwise, the skin is as the image, on my screen, has a terrible dose of what appears to be JPG articacts. So all I can say, love it, but if the artifacts are not unique to my viewing experience that is a problem.
Have to agree with Ian. You can see the artifacting a lot more obviously in the bokeh behind her, in that it has a "gridded" appearance. Looking past that, yes, the skin is a little too smoothed out. I think finding a subtle balance is the most common issue I see with FS.
thank you peter hanne, Ian McCann & Fumi Nakamura
actually for the image, i don`t do any photoshop plugin for skin smoothing..first stetp is make level adjustment, FS, Auto Contrast & Color and cropping.
A good input for me to improve in my next headshot..i really appreciate it..
the image below is a JPEG converted file from RAW without making any adjustment..
