I am Jimil Patel from Chattanooga, TN. I am trying to get into headshot photography and this is my first attempt.
I have used rapid box octa 32 with canon speedlight 600ex, 5d mark 3, 70-200 2.8. I am trying to follow Dylan Patric's Cinematic style. Please let me know any suggestions for improvements. Thanks.

nice work Jimil. The to image is a very strong composition - very good connection with the subject - and the background is great with the splash of colour.
The other three images are good as well but I find the background in those a little distracting.

Nicely done all around, good poses and expressions, and good control of the lighting, I think the last one with the arms crossed is my least favorite, expression feels a little blank, and the arms crossed is generally universal body language for "closed off". Also with the more serious shots try to coach him to keep his mouth closed...its preference really, but see how you like the two with it open and closed...I have always found that most of the time mouth open doesn't work as it lets all the power drop out of the shot through the mouth. On a whole I think you could get all your lighting much closer, but the lighting you have achieved is good, these are a really awesome start Jimil! Keep it up!!
Thanks Patrick for your review. I will definitely keep your advice for lips and work on that for my next shoot. Your way of shooting cinematic style is very fresh and I really love it. Just trying perfect it like you do. Thanks again.
