Color Layers - New Zealand

A landscape photo from my trip to New Zealand back in 2014.
Location: Wai-O-Tapu, on the northern island.

I took the photo on a rather dark and cloudy day. So that's the reason for the dark tree line in the background.

What do you guys think about it?

Technically I think you have it "nailed" well and truly. I also really like the aesthetic, so am struggling to figure out why you seem protective of it. It is very good indeed and another reason to want to go to New Zealand, as if I needed another reason.

Well yes I was a bit protective, I'm not totally confident with my skills yet. I'm really interested in landscape photography but I'm still on the amateur level :) Thanks for your Feedback Ian!
I have decided that I need to go there again, at some point.

Mikkel,
I love the mood you captured in this shot. The color contrast and composition are very interesting to view. the dark silhouette treeline adds to the mood. The bright cloud at the image top center edge is just a bit distracting to my eye...when I cover it my stays on the orange and green colors.

Hi Michael
Thanks for the feedback! I have never thought about the bright clouds but I think you are right. They are a bit distracting.

This is a SICK shot. Love the pulling of the oranges!

Cheers mate!
