Tedd Woodford's picture

US 95 Idaho

I shot this while racing home to Southern California on a whirlwind trip. I would like to see what photographers think as I am pretty new to this art, but I am trying to learn as much as I can.

Thanks!

I do like the color and the sky is kind of interesting, but you should try not to split your shot in the middle between sky and foreground in these type of shots unless there's a compelling reason to do so. You need to favor one or the other and not have them compete evenly. IMHO, there's nothing remarkable about this shot. It lacks a focal point. It would have been great if there was a building, or a person, or something else in the scene, even at a distance. Something in the foreground would have also helped immensely to add depth. This shot seems to leave the eye wandering with nowhere to settle. You might go here for some tips. Keep shooting! http://digital-photography-school.com/11-surefire-tips-for-improving-you...
