Sunrise at Grand Teton National Park

This picture was taken a little after sunrise in Grand Teton National Park. There was no color in the sky, so shot a long exposure to get some movement in the clouds. Please do rate, comment and critique. Thanks

Hello Anand, very nice picture indeed.....I was there last April at about the same location.

Good idea doing a long exposure. A bit hard to tell you did one in that clouds are a bit hard to tell unless you do a very long exposure, but having you having mentioned it I do notice it. If you had not I might have not noticed. I like the exposure very much....the only issue I have with it is that you shot it vertical instead of horizontal. I don't know all the conditions of course but it seems to me the shot would have been a bit more pleasing if shot horizontal. I think you may have been wanting to bring the log into the more focal point which it is and looks good. Still though I think the log would still have come across strongly in a horizontal.

Very good job.....I would rate it a 4 out of 5.

I added my shot for your comment and critique.....I have a bit of a wider shot that I like for the composition but it didn't have the ducks :) in it so I went with this one as my favorite. Also right after sunrise.

Keep up the good shooting.......

Dieter

Thanks Dieter, it is really difficult to go wrong at Grand Tetons national park, the mountains do look fabulous from any direction. I do wish MtMoran was centered in your picture (may be try a crop), and calmer waters to get perfect reflections

Hey, very nice shot, love the reflection and composition, although I prefer 4:5 or 3:4 image ratios for verticals. I think that the clouds are a little bit too purple which I believe isn't too flattering together with the yellows in the midground. Maybe you could shift the color of the clouds a bit more towards blue and desaturate them a bit.

Thanks Patrick for pointing out the color in the clouds. I agree, blue will help. Really didn't notice it, thanks again
