The Netherlands are scattered with beautiful little windmills like this one. Some of them really famous, others hardly known by the public.
On a weekend phototrip in Holland a friend and i recently decided to go scout a place we had never been before. Once arrived on site, we were very pleased to find this little unknown gem, perfectly aligned with the sunset that evening. Good research payed off and there's really nothing so inspiring as to go and discover new places like this!
Exposure blend of 3 images to cover the dynamic range and keep all the details in the image.
Feel free to let my know what you think about it, any CC is always welcome!
Really like the photo. A quintessential Dutch Classic as you aptly called it. I like that the HDR is subtle, if you hadn't said you you used it, I would not have immediately thought you did. Nice!
Thanks a lot Mike, i'm glad that you like it. I try not to overcook my blends, even tho i like the editing part.
Very nice! I like the composition and the subtle colors. If anything, perhaps darkening the sky around the area of the sun might bring out more detail. I can see more detail of the clouds in the reflection on the water than in the sky itself.
Thanks for the feedback Red! Kinda thought about that to first, but naturally the reflections are a hint darker than the rest. But now that you've pointed out my attention to it again, maybe i could balance the light a little better. :)
Nice job. Very clean composition and as Mike says very well executed HDR. Thumbs up!
Huge thanks David!
