These are pretty good Jeremy. One of the secrets in my opinion to all people, animals, birds and insect photography is to make sure you get the eyes as sharp as you can.The grasshopper is ok I think for that reason. The fungii could be brightened up a little. The red insect his eyes are not quite sharp but a difficult subject to get in focus. Mayne a close up of his face and very sharp eyes might have worked better. The yellow daisies have good colour and good out of focus background. Well done.

thanks User-187388... sorry fro the late response

I do like the grasshopper but perhaps leaving in a little more color could work better. Perhaps there wasn't more color and this is a beginning of winter scene.

I really like the way the red insect pops out. I wonder what it would look like with less background on the right side. I am thinking it would look more like the insect is moving on to the bottom right.

The other two don't have anything memorable going on. I like to make wallpaper from some of my efforts like that.

thanks jack.. the reason I made the grasshopper B&W is cause the colours were just green and a muddy yellow.. so I thought it looked much better in B&W

Rule of thirds is decent on your grasshopper. I like the artistic choice of B&W.

The red bug is a stunner. I like the way the foreground and background out of focus areas frame the crisp focus on your insect friend.

Your mushrooms seem maybe a bit out of focus, but I still like your composition.

Personal taste on your flower shot... I'd make the yellow a bit more saturated. Again, your demonstration of composition understanding is quite good.

Here's my grasshopper contribution... shot years ago on a Canon SD-780 P&S with a macro setting.

Keep shooting... good stuff. I'm a fellow Pentaxian. K-3 II user here.

thanks Shea…
lol its funny cause for a sec I thought that photo u took of the grasshopper was mine.. because I have a very similar shot too.

I have a series of three of this little guy. Going, going, gone. Pretty neat you captured the same look. :)

I'll bet your shooting has evolved. Your talent shows in the posted work.

Crummy detail, but the shots entertain me... soooo, ok.

nice shots.
thanks :-)
