Last Leaves of Fall

I captured this yesterday. I like the minimalism. The mist covered pond in the background shows the reflection of the tree line. The leaves are past their best color but for me it works well. Maybe its only destiny as is computer/iPad wallpaper. What do you think?

I would suggest cropping out the shore on the lower left. It does not add anything but taking it away would.

I second what David said. While you're at it, you can also try and remove the branches at the very top left corner.

Overall, I think that would help simplify the image, but the lack of light is what's holding it back the most.

This is really a reply to both David and Jordan. I was looking at cropping out the lower left. Imdont like losing the reflection. If I drop some of the left as well that will help. I could do some cloning to clear up the bottom left as well. I am slow at cloning and keeping it clean.

As far as the light, do you mean it could be brighter or that the flat lighting is not very interesting?

Here is an attempt to crop it down and lose the shore and plants in the lower left corner. It still has some reflection in the water I wanted to keep.
