Looking for critique...

Looking for feedback on this composite Star Trail image over the virgin river. This is my first attempt and particularly interested if the community thinks the sky and forground are balanced and blended well. Thanks in advance.

Fantastic star trails mate! It's blended well in my view but the FG could perhaps go a little cooler, less saturated and slightly darker to match?

This is already awesome. The foreground is balanced and has a lot of detail. It is a tad to bright for my taste. The only thing I miss is the north star! Unfortunately it is slightly out of the frame.

Hi Thomas,
Love the leading lines on your comp. I would join Danny on the exposure of the foreground, specially in the greens, bring it down a notch to match the overall lighting of the scene. Hope this helps :-)

Thanks for the feedback, how about this version with the darker foreground?

Much better, did you apply some curves or something, i would keep the highlights in the river up though :-) More importantly how do u like it? Does it make any more sense to what you have seen or wanted to render? Keep it up! :-)

I added a curves layer to the foreground. I was struggling on the brightness of the foreground, which is why I posted it. I like the darker version, but think it lacks punch. May try to tweak a bit more. Thanks for the comments!

I like the darker version, looks great. I think what will finalize the image is some dodge and burn work in the foreground. I do notice that red is coming out of the rocks more aggressively in the darker version, you might want to pull that back a hair with a saturation adjustment.
