This photo has been taken in Switzerland, near the pic of Beaulmes. I planned a trip to the top of the mountain but I was caught by the view and never finished the hike to the top.
This a bracket of 3 frames (1 stop) blended with some dodge and burn.
Taken with my D750 and Tamron 17-35mm around 30 minutes before sunset.

There is something about it that makes it heavy on the right hand side, I think this is due to the mass of dark branches in the upper right.

nice shot very painterly like Skye said the far right and actually all the dark areas have lost there detail you can get dark and still retain the subtle details so your eye doesn't get caught in a void the clouds, light and fade of the distance is epic
