Hilarious Video Perfectly Captures Why Some Photography Tutorials Drive Us Crazy

If you're like most of us, you've learned a good chunk of your photographic knowledge from tutorials. The Internet is chock full of them — some good, some bad. We couldn't help but laugh at this parody, though, which so accurately captures what it's like to watch some tutorials.

None of us have enough time anymore. Call it a photographer thing, call it a cultural thing, call it life. Whatever the reason is, as we've grown accustomed to having less and less time, we've also lost some patience for, shall we say, inefficiency of presentation. Internet culture has made us want the payoff instantly. Creating good, succinct tutorials is tough; it means knowing exactly what you're going to say and saying it both clearly and efficiently as soon as the camera is on. Perhaps the most important, yet most often overlooked aspect, is knowing what to leave out. We've all seen just such a video in which we're only looking for a 20-second explanation buried in 15 minutes of buildup, random photography anecdotes, and a real-time debate of the merits of using a blue-colored mouse. We fast-forward, scrub back and forth, and desperately search for that magic interval, only to end up with the outcome depicted in the above video. Alas, such is life on the Internet.

This had me in tears laughing

Classic!!!

Everytime you say "You wanna go ahead" a kitten die.

Uhmmmm

Very funny except when you're experiencing it. :-)

Oh man this made me laugh. Painfully accurate.

Great !! Now how do we get this to all the people that make tutorials, so they have it in mind.
Do I click the right mouse button now or ???? I'm confused now, good I watched this.

I was waiting for him to start typing out instructions in notepad/textedit.

Pretty accurate, but they didn't include the 30 second intro for a 2 minute video.

I agree. Or a company intro that lasts waaaaaaaay too long. So unprofessional.

Holy shit that was funny as hell. And sadly, we've all gone through those kinds of tutorials! LOL!

Yep, and come join our FREE WEBINAR!! full of AWESOME TIPS!! that ONLY THE PROS KNOW!!, like how to enroll in our exclusive program with FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF TUTORIALS!! which is available at a SPECIAL DISCOUNT RATE OF ONLY $500 if you enroll in the next 5 minutes!

Couldn't be more true!

That's freaking funny hilarious except that my wife has to remind me that I shouldn't curse at the monitor because the instructor is not there and I almost always feel I'm getting a heart attack and suffer from anxiety and I had to take a shot of tequila to come down and I'm going through my third monitor after punching the first two.
That's exactly how I feel when I'm in a good mood when I'm having a bad day I have actually shot once a whole monitor. But hey it's their fault for being stupid and I accept I may have a little bit of anger management problems. JOKING!!!! THAT'S HILARIOUS!!!!
