12 Composition Tips for Winter Landscape Photography

Winter will be upon us soon, and seemingly familiar landscapes will be totally transformed into entirely different worlds. As such, it takes a different approach to create compelling landscape images. Winter is my favorite time of year for landscape work simply because it can be so otherworldly. If I had to give one tip, it would be to bring along a drone if you own one. All the snow and ice can create interesting and strange abstract geometric structures and contrasts only visible from above. And if you photograph over something like a lake, you will get new images almost by the day as the snow and ice shift and create new patterns. On top of that, you can sit in your warm car while you're shooting! Just make sure you can still see your drone. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
