7 Common Mistakes in Landscape Photography

Landscape photography is a challenging genre that demands a combination of a wide variety of skills to bring a finished photo to fruition. There are a lot of places where a mistake can derail things, and this excellent video tutorial discusses seven such mistakes and what you can do to fix them or avoid them altogether.

Coming to you from Photo Tom, this awesome video tutorial discusses seven common landscape photography mistakes and what you can do to either fix or avoid them. Two of the most common mistakes I personally see are overediting and not including a foreground element when using a wide angle lens. Most landscape photos involve at least a moderate amount of editing, and it can be really easy to end up going overboard, particularly with colors, so be sure to step back for a second when you are done with the edit and reevaluate the image one more time before you export it. When it comes to a wide angle lens, remember that they tend to push the background away, so if you do not include a foreground element, it can leave the image feeling rather empty. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
