One of the most interesting and sometimes frustrating aspects of landscape photography is that you get no control over the elements of the frame, the lighting, or the surrounding conditions. And that will often mean that things will not be as you hoped or planned, but that should not deter you. This excellent video features an experienced landscape photographer discussing one of the key elements to improving your work.
Coming to you from Mike Smith, this great video discusses the importance of perseverance in landscape photography. Without a doubt, it is frustrating when you put in the time and effort to get to a location only to be seemingly thwarted by the wrong conditions. The thing to remember, though, is that you can make worthwhile photos no matter what you encounter, so long as you work with what you are given instead of against it. And beyond that, getting the chance to spend time outdoors with our cameras should never frustrate us; don't ever forget that you do this because it is something that you brings you joy. Sometimes, the solution is simply to suspend your expectations and roll with the flow a bit. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Smith.
