You may have come across his videos on Vimeo or YouTube, or even stumbled upon his captivating landscape and astro work on popular sites like 500px. Photographer and Videographer, Michael Shainblum, has revealed his latest work after his recent hiatus in videography. And he did not disappoint.
I have taken quite a long hiatus from creating timelapse films. My last full video was released over a year ago. Recently I have gained some inspiration to start working on new films both in timelapse and aerial. This little teaser video includes some of my favorite shots from 2014 and 2015. Some of which were shot on my roadtrip stormchasing.
His favorite scenes are shot from across the West Coast of the US; places like Death Valley, the Great Plains, and even Yosemite Park in California. He work has also ventured out to places such as Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and China for other projects.
Here are some of his classics:
'Mirror City' is a piece Shainblum put together with stunning kaleidoscopic visuals. He shows how man-made structures were put together with a combination of color and movement to make 'plethora of visual stimulation'.
'Into The Atmosphere' is a timelapse video that Shainblum composed as a tribute to the state of California and it's beauty. Featuring many of it's National Parks and lesser recongized locations.
In 'Welcome to Doha', Shainblum takes you through a journey of Doha, Qatar located in the Middle East. This piece highlights the old and the new culture of this Middle Eastern country.
If you have not seen his full gallery, I'd highly recommend checking his work out on his website or 500px.
