Lightroom is one of the most common applications in the photo industry, used by millions of photographers for cataloging their images and performing basic to intermediate edits on them. As the foundation of many photographers' workflows, it is important to ensure that you are using Lightroom correctly. This excellent video tutorial discusses three common mistakes photographers make when using the application and how to correct or avoid them in the first place.
Coming to you from Anthony Morganti, this great video tutorial will show you three common Lightroom mistakes and how to fix them. One of the most common mistakes I see (and one that I was once guilty of) is not establishing a robust organizational system right off the bat. When you are just starting out and only have a few thousand images in your catalog, it is not that big a deal to just scroll until you find the shot you need. However, when your catalog starts to push tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of images, if you do not have them files into proper collections and coded with keywords, you are likely going to run into a lot of frustration. I had to take an entire weekend to go through my catalog and fix that when I realized mine had grown out of control. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Morganti.
I will never stop repeating this: videos are not convenient because il requires either headphones or a time of the day when you don’t annoy people (colleagues, wife etc).
