5 Lesser-Known Lightroom Tips That Will Improve Your Images

Lightroom can be a more complex program than it seems on the surface, and some of its more hidden features can actually be the most useful, saving you a ton of time in post and increasing the quality of your images. This awesome video tutorial will show you five such lesser-known features and how to use them in your workflow.

Coming to you from Kevin Raposo, this great video tutorial will show you five lesser-known Lightroom features that will improve your image quality or make your workflow more efficient. By far, my favorite is the Match Total Exposures function. If you are someone who likes to shoot in a semiautomatic mode like aperture priority or manual with auto ISO, you probably know the pain of inching successive exposures back and forth by a third of a stop because the camera's automatic meter is imperfect. Rather than spending hours tweaking exposures by small amounts, Match Total Exposures allows you to set the exposure you want on just one photo, then set all the other selected images to the same exposure, with Lightroom automatically taking into account variations in shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. It's a big time-saver. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Raposo.

Sloppy journalism.
