4 Reasons Why You Should Try Macro Photography

Macro photography is a genre that just about anyone can try, and it can open up an entirely new world of subjects and opportunities all hiding in plain sight. This great video features an experienced macro photographer discussing four reasons why the genre is addictive fun.

Coming to you from Micael Widell, this awesome video discusses four reasons why you should consider trying macro photography. My favorite reason is the sheer abundance of available subjects. You do not need to travel to some faraway location or book a model to enjoy the genre. We are constantly surrounded by interesting subject matter within arm's reach or a short walk out your door. And it becomes addictive seeing new perspectives of normal objects you are used to seeing every day. Even if it is not something you plan on doing professionally, consider tossing a macro lens in your bag the next time you head out on a hike or the like; you might discover many more image opportunities than you thought possible. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Widell.
