Summer’s Almost Gone

A thick blanket of grass and rush shroud a spring fed water trough. The blades and stems cradle a few golden leaves of the coming fall season.

Paul, I keep looking at this. It is a great idea. May I he so bold as to suggest a 1x1 crop? It would put just a tad more interest on the color contrast. Yet, it would still have the same basic feel. The texture in the grass really makes this.

Ed, thank you for your comments and suggestions as always. I appreciate and respect your opinions and insight. I have never learned to see in the 1x1 format, I skipped over in the days of film 35mm to 4x5 and to compose an image to the format, as crop is a four letter word that was alternatively used as “chop”. No offense to anyone.
Through your work, it has opened my eyes to the 1x1 format, in a growing appreciation and new possibilities with easy access to the format in the digital medium. I will explode your 1x1 crop suggestion.
But if I may be so bold isn’t a sign of a successful image to captivate your audience’s attention to keep them looking?
Thanks again Ed it’s always go to hear from you.
