The Realm of Harvester Ants / The Bigger Picture

On this outing I was wandering, exploring up on the Paria Plateau. Nowhere specific, no named feature, just some anonymous area. The day grew to afternoon and I noticed the light began to make things around me light up. First a few of the different bunch grasses, several shrubs, the juniper and the sandstone mounds. Then the very sand itself, and that’s when I saw them. Two small ant mounds among this intimate landscape I had been looking to compose and an image and there it was the key to bring this anonymous place together. Two small ant mounds bring meaning and importance here as any grandiose mountains anywhere.
