Agave and Fall, McKittrick Canyon, Texas

My normal fall trip would be to make a giant loop up through Page, Arizona and Zion. Then over to Capitol Reef and home through Moab. This particular fall I had too much personal and business interference to take that much time so I decided to take an abbreviated venture to Guadalupe Mountains National Park for four days instead of my normal two+ weeks. When I got to the park it was raining, and the balance of the trip left me under very a heavy overcast with heavy fog and mists at times. Perfect for this subject material. As I was walking in the very heavy mist I decided to go off trail and follow this dry river bed when I came to this. Truthfully, I had to tone the colors down. They were just too brilliant. In reality they looked like one of those images where the maker slides all the colors to maximum contrast. I used a Toyo 45A with a Rodenstock Sironar S 210mm lens with a UV-15 filter. The film was Kodak E100G, processed normally.
