Wave Rock, Arizona

I was out hiking in the wilderness of Northern Arizona, so close to Utah that I could spit and hit it. It was Mid May and they had just turned the furnace on and characteristically it was smoking hot. Well into the high 90's, and this was only May! I wanted to portray an image that looked like it was hot. These rock formations reminded me of the patterns the breakers make along the California coast where I grew up. I used a Canon 60D camera with a Canon EFs 18-135 lens... too hot to carry my 4x5 field camera and a bunch of film holders. All I wanted here was to get back to camp and drink a gallon of water! I didn't have any cold water with me, but at the point any water would do! All black and white conversion was done using Photoshop only. RAW images were imported to Light Room for conversion to Tiff files.
