Sunrise in the Medicine Bow, Wyoming

There are numerous of these small lakes in the Snowy Mountains of Southern Wyoming and I try to be there at least once each year, usually in the fall which is late September. What is attractive is that there are numerous textures of all kinds that can be contrasted against each other, and if you are there at sunrise in this spot the sun will bathe the mountains in the background in raw sunlight while the foreground remains in deep shadow until at least an hour after actual sunrise. I was very blessed on this occasion that the storm clouds that lingered in the area were slowly moving out so that there was texture and interest in the sky. I used a Toyo 45A camera with a Schneider 47mm XL lens with a #21 Dark Orange filter on it which increased contrast in the sky. The film used was Kodak T-Max 100 rated at ASA 50 so I would be sure to get lots of detail in the deepest shadow areas.
