Gates of the Forest, Guardian of Light

I had the good fortune to be in Northern Montana during a springtime, just after ice out. The forest was absolutely amazing. These Red Western Cedars are true old growth forest, having never been cut. These stands of western red cedar exist in several locations across Northern Idaho and Montana. Some of these trees have a huge diameter and they are simply gorgeous.

I used a Toyo 45A, 150mm Sinaron lens with a light yellow filter with Kodak T-Max 100 film.

Thank you. It was raining straight down when I did this. I covered my camera with the dark cloth and did all the operations under the tent of my dark cloth. Standing under a large tree gave some cover. I was soaked to the skin, my back pack was soaked. But I persisted, and it worked.
