I've made kind of a tradition of going to the pier every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving. It can be kind of challenging when you photograph the same location multiple times to come up with something original. This is what I came up with this year.
This is a 5 frame vertical panorama. I did a tiny bit of compositing with the moon. I actually shot the moon at 600mm and composited it in at a size that was more what it looked like in person.
This is actually a piece of a failed experiment. I was planning on doing a "day to night" style photo like Stephen Wilkes. However, I tried doing it with a panorama which turned out to basically be impossible. Live and learn. I look forward to trying again with a shot that doesn't have to be stitched together.
