Some Places Feel Alive The Moment You Arrive.

At Cadillac Ranch near Amarillo, Texas, ten graffiti-covered Cadillacs rise from the horizon, their colors standing in striking contrast against the wide-open West Texas sky.

Standing there along historic Route 66, I found myself thinking about the photographers who traveled this road before me—Ernst Haas and Garry Winogrand among them. Both photographed Route 66, capturing their own interpretations of the American landscape and the people and places along the way.
