If you are doing a Kansas wedding this time of year, you have to make use of the beautiful wheat fields. Before the wedding, this couple and I went a few miles out of town and found this field directly off the road. We pull off into the ditch and got out for a few quick photos. The sky was beautiful and dramatic and I wanted the couple's emotion to match that. I put them about 10 feet into the field. I then set up a strobe camera left, and used a high power since it was still mid-day and I needed to get my background darker so the brightness of the couple would contrast the deep colors of the sky and the wheat. I used the curve of the clouds coming in to frame the couple and posed them in a way that communicated the feeling I felt for this photo. I then ducked my head just below the wheat to make it an interesting part of the photo, but still keeping the couple as the focus.
