Milky Way @ Herbet Lake

I'm always grateful to be in Canadian Rockies during a new moon and that is exactly what occured this past July. Having photographed the night sky there a few times in the past I was on the prowl for something that hadn't been done a thousand times. Camping in Lake Louise meant that there was a lot of nice locations I could avail myself of nearby. Problem is, I've seen lots of photos from each one. I jumped in my and determined to head up the Icefields Parkway to see what I could find. I found this little lake shortly after entering the parkway. I flew past it initially, on my way to Bow Lake or somewhere close-by. But as I drove past I noticed just how completely still the water was and I determined to turn around and come back to photograph it. I found out later that it is called Herbert Lake and the reason the mountains on the left are lit up is because I'm facing directly towards the village of Lake Louise. This is a blue hour blend and a tracked milky way.
