Rainbow is a mixture of the intentional and fortuitous. This image was taken halfway up the Lynton & Lynmouth funicular railway on a stormy November afternoon. I roughly planned the spot where I was going to take the image from the rail car half-way up, as I wanted to capture the rugged coastline, the colours in the headland and the weak sunlight highlighting the rocky inlets.
The rainbow was the fortuitous bonus: and while it’s not the main focus, it provides an additional interesting feature! Reviewing this image, the bottom right-hand corner is rather too dark, although I recall I couldn’t lift it much more during post-processing without affecting the exposure balance through the overall image.
