Abbey in the snow

My home town of Glastonbury gets very little snow: we've had two days' worth only three times in the past eight years. So when it comes one has to choose ones photographic subject carefully!

The ruins of the iconic Glastonbury Abbey provided a wonderful subject and the B/W processing shows the snow-capped ruins in sharp relief to the surrounding parkland. The family playing in the snow provide an enchanting human aspect without which I think this image would be rather sterile.
