The changeful history of Saint-Malo in Brittany is immediately apparent at nearly any place in the city. High ramparts and massive forts proves that the past was full of conflicts wealthy, too.
The architecture is only one of many unique aspects of Saint-Malo. It is also the spot with the largest
tidal range of Europe up to 12 metres! On a stormy springtide huge waves crash against the walls. A spectacle for locals, tourists and photographers.
The morning I arrived at this spot was two days after springtide but it was so calm that I couldn't imagine the forces of nature may treat this area so hard.
I tried to find an impactful foreground when the rising sun kissed the walls.
