A study in Contrast

I'm an old Forest Resource Manager and I spent many, many years in the forest. My eye is now trained to zero in on the very small that are knitted together by Nature to produce what we call "Landscape." This is one. The colors and the textures of the Yellow Poplar leaf resting on the bed of moss is so simple yet it completes a part of the forest that no one ever sees. So think about this simple photograph the next time you look at a "Landscape" and ask yourself how many unseen elements were necessary to make your landscape.
