The Rufous-crowned Roller is the largest member of this colorful family. We found this beauty perched in a thorn tree in the Lamai Area of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. They are fairly common throughout the park. The November rainclouds provided a spectacular cloudscape in the background.
I took the image with a Canon EOS R6 with an EF 200-400 mm f/4L IS USM extender lens. The exposure settings were 1/250 sec at f/5.6, ISO 1000, 560 mm. The image was taken on November 4, 2022.
Very good photo. Coimposition with the gaze of the bird to the longest side. Sharpness, color and background.
I like it a lot.
