Greybull livestock auction in Greybull, which is 38 miles north of Worland WY
As with old farm equipment, abandoned and standing idle demonstrated that they had lost their usefulness. I always feel sad when I see machinery left; its only chore is cultivating rust. It's sad not because of the equipment itself but what this state represents—a state of failure. Like the equipment, I felt the same sadness when I saw these abandoned cattle corrals, having also lost their usefulness as a means for those to get their beef to market. Families worked in harsh conditions with their livestock to get them this far. The nails will rust, and the wooden slats and posts will slowly deteriorate. These empty corrals are now only broken borders.
