Shaker Village, Canterbury NH
I entered a small building and discovered the most comforting place. This room was of the Shaker tradition with its simplicity and rich wooden tones. The light that showed through the window onto the sweet-smelling cedar floor was almost messaged. This sunlight was very warm and welcoming, and it had a softness and color about it rather than that of a hardened and focused white beam. I especially like the transparency of the sunlight that gave the room life. While studying the room, I saw the light as an intruder–– a welcomed intruder.
